The National Lawyers Association (NLA) is a national bar association founded in 1993 by some of the thousands of lawyers who fled the American Bar Association after that group voted to officially support abortion.  NLA members are from all 50 states, District of Columbia, and points overseas. NLA is the only national bar association which supports the sanctity of life from conception until natural death. It also is unique in the fact that it proposes the Constitution should be interpreted in light of the principles and transcendent truths set forth in the Declaration of Independence.

Bastian co-wrote a “position statement” press release  for client NLA and the Alliance Defense Fund about how both groups object to the American Bar Association promoting same-sex “marriage” laws and putting out false indicators that it speaks for all American lawyers on the issue.  Both groups pointed out that about three-quarters of American lawyers don’t even belong to the ABA, and many actively work to protect marriage as the union of one man and one woman. Bastian also assisted with the successful national distribution of the press release to key legal and consumer online and print publications.  Additionally, she wrote/distributed press releases promoting NLA’s June 2011 annual, national conference  as well as an organizational NLA fact sheet used to secure media coverage from national and regional news outlets.
