Cincinnati: City of Charm coffee table book


The Cincinnati Chamber of Commerce is the nation’ s fifth-largest Chamber. It represents the interests of nearly 5,000 member businesses.

After the Cincinnati Chamber of Commerce identified Bastian as one of the top business writers in Cincinnati, she was hired to co-author Cincinnati: City of Charm. The meat of the 350-page, full-color “coffee table” book are 100 organizational profiles, 500 to 1,000 words in length, of the city’s top organizations. Bastian wrote 50 of these well-researched pieces.  The tome opens with a “love story” about Cincinnati, told in text and photos, crafted by media icon Nick Clooney (father of actor George).  The book’s production was managed by Towery Publishing.  After publication, all of the 10,000 copies sold out quickly as the book was a big hit with the community. It also served as a classy “economic development” calling card to draw new businesses to the region. Here are some of the profiles Bastian wrote within a tight deadline:
