ASTD is the world’s largest association dedicated to workplace learning and performance professionals. ASTD’s members come from more than 100 countries and connect locally in almost 140 U.S. chapters and 25 Global Networks. Members work in thousands of organizations of all sizes.
TASK: One year the Cincinnati chapter of ASTD (American Society for Training & Development) hosted the national organization’s regional training conference which was held in the city. Bastian was tapped by local board members to serve as Public Relations Co-Chair. In this role she wrote and created a corporate sponsorship brochure (on a shoestring budget) designed to raise funds to cover expensive hosting costs. The resulting marketing piece secured over $8,000; an amount which exceeded all expectations.
